Custom Outdoor Kitchens

Your custom kitchen can be part of a new home construciton project or added to an already landscaped yard..  We design every kitchen to your specifications for functionality, durability, and safety. Most kitchen structures are built from Cement Masonry Units (CMU block) with a steel-reinforced concrete footer and concrete floor. The interior cabinet floor can be covered with a paver or travertine product to match the patio, for a clean, finished look.

Kitchen Design

When you consider all of the possibilities for your outdoor kitchen, it is easy to get overwhelmed by the possibilities. When that time comes, we can step in and share our experiences with various layouts and guide you through the process.

Cooking Zone

The focal point of most kitchen island layouts is the cooking zone with built-in grills, smokers, side burners, griddles, and even pizza ovens. These areas also include doors for storage and access to gas lines, drawers for grilling utensils and a vent to clear the cabinet space of fumes in the event of a leak and to meet building codes.

Preparation Zone

The preparation zone is a dedicated area of open counter space large enough to layout platters and dishes, but may include roll-out trash bins, paper towel holders, cutting boards, and storage. No matter how big the prep zone is, it should be next to the cooking zone to improve overall efficiency.

Plate and Serve

If the kitchen is large enough you should consider a plate-and-serve zone, an open counter space where you can lay out a serving tray and stack of plates. And if you are cooking for a group of family and friends a warming drawer can come in handy.

Bar and Entertainment Area

We can include a raised bar with seating, a refrigerator, ice maker, wine cooler, or kegerator. A place where your guests gather to have a good time, until it's time to eat!

Exterior Finish

Standard stucco (painted) or integral color stucco is typical, but other veneers are available including porcelain tile, standard tile, stone, and metal finishes.

Pergolas and Shade Structures

Custom metal pergolas and shade structures are often placed above the kitchen to provide shade and create a gathering space for family and friends.

Entertainment and Ambiance

We can install masonry walls or metal screens for privacy and for your television and sound system. Custom lighting, benches and water walls with tiled veneer can be placed near  your dining and seating area.

Outdoor Kitchen Cost Ranges

The cost depends on kitchen size, materials of construction, countertop material, appliance selection, finishes, and utilities.

The Grill

We are an approved FireMagic dealer and have access to many other grills and appliances including brands like Blaze and Summerset. If you have a preferred grill, let us know.

Premium gas grills prices are typically priced at good, better, and best by the manufacturer. FireMagic categorizes their models as Choice, Aurora, and Echelon, with Echelon being the highest quality with the most options.

If you select a premium grill it could be the most expensive part of the kitchen, followed by the granite counter top and CMU kitchen frame.

Our Build Process

After the kitchen design is approved and materials are secured, the Project Coordinator schedules all subcontractors, our crews, and inspections through project completion.

Your project typically flows in this sequence:
          ● HOA or DRC approvals are secured
          ● Permits for gas and electric are secured
          ● Trenching for utilities and installation of gas, water, and electric service
          ● Reinforced concrete footer is installed
          ● CMU kitchen structure is installed with air vent
          ● Countertop template is made, followed by installation of counter material
          ● Grill, other appliances, doors and drawers are installed
          ● Connect to utilities, shakedown and test

HOA, DRC, and Approvals

We will prepare a landscape design (that includes the kitchen), or a stand alone kitchen design suitable for submittal to the HOA or DRC and local permitting agencies. We secure all permits for installation of natural gas, electric service and water lines and installation of equipment follows manufacturer recommendations. Clearances, venting, shutoffs, and equipment locations follow manufacturer specifications and best practices.

Warranty

We provide a two-year workmanship warranty and all manufacturer warranies pass through to the Homeowner

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a landscape design cost?

Designconsultations are free. Pool designs—and pool designs that include landscape—aretypically free. Stand-alone landscape designs may incur a nominal design feebased on scope. While landscape design fees can catch clients off guard, theyare critical to making sure the plan is buildable, bid properly, and that the crewsknow what to install. These highly detailed plans are also used for permitting, engineering (when required), and HOA and DRC submittals.

Can you help with pool and spa designs?

Yes— we specialize in turnkey landscape and pool design-build, with one point ofcontact for design and one for construction. Our team integrates pools, spas, and patios into a cohesive plan that looks intentional. Planning the entireproject from the beginning makes sure nothing is overlooked, installation isdone in the most efficient sequence, and, if the project is phased, rework islimited.

How long does the design process take?

Landscapedesigns typically take 2–4 weeks; pool designs can be completed in about fivebusiness days. While most people view the pool as the more complicated element, the detail in the landscape plan is what ties the entire project togethercohesively, and why it takes more time.

What happens if I want to make a revision?

Revisions are a normal part of the design process. Many times, what sounds good in conversation has a much different feel on paper. This is why the design process is so important to a successful project.

What happens after the design?

What happens after the design?

Onceapproved, your design moves to estimating. We prepare a professional line-itemproposal, review it with you (there’s never pressure to decide on the spot),and incorporate any adjustments until the plan matches your vision and budget.

Do your designs meet my HOA or DRC requirements?

Yes. We have extensive experience working in some of thestrictest neighborhoods like Stone Canyon in Rancho Vistoso, Honey Bee Estates,Canyon Pass at Dove Mountain, Saguaro Ranch, Ritz-Carlton Residences, TheGallery at Dove Mountain (Dos Lagos), The Preserve, Pima Canyon, VentanaCanyon, La Paloma, Boulder Canyon, and their neighboring communities. Frequently Asked Questions

What appliances can I include?

We can design and install any number of appliances, including grills, smokers, side burners or power burners, griddles, pizza ovens, refrigerators, sinks, kegerators, and more.

Do I need gas and electric service?

Not always. Built-in grill manufacturers offer propane versions of their equipment with battery-operated ignition systems. So, you can build an outdoor kitchen without extending gas and electric to the grill. The benefits of natural gas lines and electric service are convenience: you never need to refill a propane tank, and electric service can power a rotisserie, blenders, fans, speakers, chargers, other appliances.

Can the kitchen design match my home?

Absolutely. We can match stucco and stone finishes, countertops, and often the appliances in your house.

Do you install shade structures?

Yes. We design and install metal and Alumawood shade structures with integrated lighting, fans, heaters, outlets, and audio systems.

How long does installation take?

The total construction period is usually 3 to 4 weeks after work begins.
